SEEDLING

In the Central Texas area, an estimated 8,000 children have an incarcerated parent. Since 2005, the Seedling Mentor Program has provided thousands of these children with a dedicated school-based mentor to serve as an additional supportive and caring adult in their lives. Seedling Mentors are present in more than 120 schools across 17 Independent and Charter districts. Additionally, each spring, Seedling awards scholarships of up to $8,000 to 8th grade students to use toward their post-secondary education.
